Hit by Lightning

This happened in 1982. At that time I was a marshaller. An Italian aircraft landed at the airport. The pilot rushed out of the aircraft and told us the plane had been hit by lightning. No one was hurt.
He went round the plane to check the wings and fuselage. He discovered two holes which he showed us, they were about 5m apart.
The lightning must have run through the plane for 5m.
There were two holes: one for entry and one for exit!
