My Life and the Soviet Union

I have a small house 20m from Lake Karvys near Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The lake is 50m deep and about 2 km long. I love it.

I am Lithuanian, I am a patriot. Communism is crazy. But there is a problem!

Under the Soviet system I didn't get paid much, but I could retire at 50. Now, my salary is higher, but I have to continue working until I am 62.

I have to work another 12 years away from my family and my lake!
